Playthings Toy Fair report : Day 1

Over at Playthings they have written a very comprehensive overview of the first day of the 2008 Toy Fair.  In it they discuss topics and events like women in toys, toy safety, I Can Do That! Games and their Dr Seuss related games and lots more.  They even mention the well talked about issue of recalls and now the extra costs to Chinese manufacturers, which is now causing companies to remove non-essential bells and whistles from products in order to keep their costs down. Take a peek and get an idea of all of the events and happenings at the Toy Fair without having to deal with all those people  :)

“The 105th American International Toy Fair kicked off yesterday to a generally upbeat mood. Manufacturers we talked to seemed pleased by the quantity of buyers going through their booths. To our eyes, though, the show aisles seemed slightly less crowded than what we’ve traditionally come to expect, especially by the afternoon, when the early morning rush seemed to abate noticeably. By the end of the day, though, it was still as hard as ever to catch a cab.”
