State of the blog address…

I started this humble blog about 4 months ago and I can not express my gratitude and enjoyment with meeting all of you.  Your encouragement, knowledge and comments have helped greatly.  I created this blog with the goal to provide an outlet for lovers of games, while focusing on casual, party and light strategy games.  I was familiar with many forums and blogs for RPG and strategy games and gamers, but never seemed to find many outlets for casual gamers. 

Buffalo Games  was starting a club called the Buffalo GameBuffs and wanted to provide a way for other club members to communicate, share, learn and have fun.  I knew this was a perfect match.  So working with Buffalo Games I can also provide cool contests, inside info into game development, etc.  For those interested, you can read more About my blog.

In these 4 months I have set-up a MySpace page and group to provide a forum for us, set-up profiles and contributed to other boardgame groups like Board Game Geek and Meetup so I could meet more gaming type people.  I have meet some great gaming enthusiasts who are writing interesting blogs (just peek at my links).  I have been posting game type news of interest, like getting the scoop on the EA and Hasbro collaboration, and I will continue with these news posts.  I have written articles like game night 101, halloween and alzheimers.  And I have tried to post some fun game links and creative things that I have found interesting, like the flight of the hamsters and simpsons maker.

In the next 4 months and beyond, yep, I hope to continue the blog for as long as I am able and not let it go blank and never updated, I will continue to do what I have been doing.  The main reason anyone should start and continue a blog is for the love of the subject matter.  I hope to have even more time free to work on the blog soon.  In that time I would also like to add more of a look at casual video gaming as it relates to board games, start a Facebook group as another outlet and I finally be posting inside information from Buffalo Games as it relates to the Buffalo GameBuffs like photos of behind the scenes work and antics, images of unreleased games, guest posts, etc.  I would also like to meet with other gamers and get  Buffalo GameBuffs game nights going.

I will continue my sporadic installments of gaming 101 and other feature type articles as well as start to investigate other game centric articles.  I’ll continue to provide news and fun stuff, feel free to let me know about any game news or fun links that interest you too.  Don’t forget this is a blog for fellow enthusiasts, like yourself, to share.  I will also soon have another contest for free copies of The T-Shirt Game and one for a free x-box live arcade game.
